Award Information
Description: This prize recognizes excellence in student research, intellectual creativity, originality, and quality of writing. Papers will be evaluated by the SACC Awards Committee.
Prize: $250 and registration fee waived to attend SACC’s annual meeting.
Level of Study: Undergraduate in a two- or four-year college
Submission Information: Faculty must submit on behalf of undergraduate student’s (no more than two students) research papers that relate to one of the five fields of anthropology (archaeology, socio-cultural, biological, linguistic, or applied). Papers should be no longer than 25 double-spaced pages. Faculty member must be a SACC member or active participant in SACC.
Application Submission Deadline: January 15, 2022
Application Procedure: Please submit research papers in DOC or PDF format on our awards page during the nomination period, which is every year from September 15th – December 15th January 15th (2022 only).
Selection will be made in early 2022. The winner will be announced at SACC’s next annual meeting, pending current coronavirus conditions.
