SACC Student Award for Academic Excellence
Description: This prize recognizes excellence in student research, intellectual creativity,
originality, and quality of writing. Papers will be evaluated by the SACC Awards Committee.
Prize: $250 and registration fee waived to attend SACC’s annual spring meeting
Level of Study: Undergraduate in a two- or four-year college
Submission Information: Faculty must submit on behalf of undergraduate students (no more
than two students) research papers that relate to one of the five fields of anthropology
(archaeology, socio-cultural, biological, linguistic, or applied). Papers, sent as email
attachments, should be no longer than 25 double-spaced pages. Faculty member must be a SACC member or active participant in SACC.
Papers should be submitted by e-mail to Beverly Bennett, Awards Committee Chair, at firstname.lastname@example.org. In the subject line, please include “SACC Awards.”
Application Submission Deadline: December 15, 2014
Selection will be made in January 2015. The winner will be announced at SACC’s 2015 annual meeting, March 2-5, in Kauila-Kona, Hawaii.
